Omeka: A Platform for Born-digital Collections and Online Exhibits

What is Omeka?

Omeka is an open source web publishing platform for sharing digital collections and creating media-rich online exhibits -- all from a single point of administration. It helps institutions that are interested in connecting digital cultural heritage collections with other resources online to do so. There are two versions of Omkea: Omeka Classic, geared toward educators and individual projects, and Omeka S, for institutions with multiple sites and/or shared pool of resources and staff access.

How is MOBIUS involved?

MOBIUS hosts Omeka instances for member libraries on the Google Cloud Platform. The staff stays connected to the Omeka community to know about new releases and bugs/bug fixes in order to benefit our MOSS clients. We also keep an eye out for how we can contribute through coding and documentation projects that would benefit our clients.
