MOBIUS Joins Open Textbook Network to Support and Facilitate Access to Open Educational Resources for Member Libraries

Columbia, MO (July 17, 2017) - MOBIUS is proud to announce our membership in the Open Textbook Network, an alliance of over 305 colleges and universities working together to advance the use of open textbooks in higher education. Textbook affordability is a major concern on college campuses throughout the United States and this is an exciting opportunity to provide our member libraries with tools and services that will assist them in building sustainable open textbook programs.

OTN manages the Open Textbook Library--a premier and comprehensive catalog of open textbooks that contains over 350 open textbooks and over 700 faculty reviews of the books. The textbooks are freely available to faculty who wish to adopt them and licensed under Creative Commons.

MOBIUS's membership means that all member libraries will have access to OTN resources and training.  As part of our membership, MOBIUS will be sending two representatives to the Open Textbook Network Summer Institute to learn how to support our member libraries in the implementation of the Open Textbook Network program.
