Art: Late professor commemorated in Meyer Library

Beyond the iconic landscapes of Plaster Stadium and the west mall fountain, the Duane G. Meyer Library will feature a unique addition this year. Students who visit the building for their latest study session will be greeted by wooden artwork, hand-crafted by late professor of Art and Design, Dwaine Crigger.

Donated by his family, nine pieces are displayed throughout the second and third floors as a tribute to the emeritus professor who passed away last summer.

In July, many of Crigger’s works were showcased and auctioned at the Brick City Galleries by Missouri State’s Department of Art and Design. By the event’s conclusion in early August, over $14,000 was raised toward a scholarship founded by his children.
